We offer all kinds of kitchenknives, household knives, butcherknives and cook-knives which are produced by our own
company in Solingen, “Marsvogel Stahlwaren” which has been existing since 1907. Currently, it is managed by Mr. Frank Weber. The word “Marsvogel” and the Logo “Bird” are patented and are engraved in every knife. Our store, “Germany Solingen Cutlery & Kitchenware Center”, is the first factory outlet. We are a direct importer from Solingen,
hence we have the edge of offering good prices to the market, both retail and wholesale. So, we can assure you that our products marked with “Solingen” are really produced in Solingen and are not imitations.

Manufacturing in Germany, Solingen:
|
 |
|
|
|
Our knives produced by “Marsvogel Stahlwaren”, Solingen, are made of high quality stainless steel for long sharpness.
There are two types of manufacturing:
Stamping - is done from conical knife steel blank blades using
Chrome-Molybdenum steel. These are cheaper knives for household use.
Forging - is done from high grade Chrome-Molybdenum steel. The forged
blank blade is manufactured in nine different procedures, especially done for the use of professional cook. The Chrome-Molybdenum steel is one of the most expensive steel. Chrome saves the blade from
rust while Molybdenum is for longer sharpness.
Also, steel needs carbon so that it can be hardened in high-tech vacuum.
Only a hardened knife is able to cut wonderfully. A good knife is only produced for cutting, chopping, and slicing.
After the hardening, the knife will be produced and finished by grinding,
polishing and etching, fixing the handle which is made of wood or high quality plastic, handle refinement and honing. All in all, one can count about 40 different steps until the knife is finished. At
last, there is the quality controlling, cleaning, and packing up.
It is important to notice that aggressive fluids like cooking oil and vinegar
can damage the blades. Therefore after use, it is important to clean the blade in water and hang it up to dry.
The name “Solingen” is the only city all over the world which is saved by
law. Trademarked knives carry the name which means that only the set of cutlery completely produced in Solingen can be marked with the name. The sense was to save the high quality and standard of Solingen when it comes to the manufacture of cutlery.
In addition, “Marsvogel Stahlwaren” marks all their knives with the word
“Marsvogel” and the logo (bird) to assure their customer that they are really buying an original product of Solingen and not a cheap imitation.
